Sicar Farms
Project Overview
Sicar Farms takes sustainability very seriously. So much so that they reached out to Axis Solar with hopes of achieving a Scope 3 emissions rating by utilizing their roof space on their cold storage facility in McAllen Texas for a solar install.
The use of solar power can help to reduce Scope 3 emissions by reducing the need for fossil fuels, which are a major source of greenhouse gas emissions. By generating electricity from the sun, instead of from coal, natural gas, or other fossil fuels, solar power can help to reduce emissions from power plants. Additionally, the use of solar energy can also reduce emissions from transportation, as it can be used to power electric vehicles.
At Axis Solar we quickly got to work on designing the best system for their needs, a 1692 panel 812kW array. Not only does this system achieve their goal of a Scope 3 emissions rating as defined by the EPA, but it also allowed for a $1,310,000 tax credit and represents a potential savings of $3.85MM in electic cost savings over 25 years.
‟Luis GudinoCEO, Limex Sicar Ltd Co / Sicar FarmFrom the initial consultation to the final installation, Axis Solar displayed professionalism, expertise, and exceptional customer service. They provided a comprehensive and detailed proposal that outlined the entire process, and they kept me informed every step of the way.
The installation of the solar panels on my facility was completed efficiently and effectively, with minimal disruption to my daily operations. The final result was a top-notch solar power system that has significantly reduced my energy costs and made my facility much more sustainable.
